Winter Reds 2017

With only a few of our vine leaves clinging on and overnight temperatures hovering around freezing, there’s no denying winter is here.

And how better to spend a chilly afternoon than over a glass of red in front of the fire, enjoying some hearty food and live music? At Bird in Hand, we’ve just launched our program for Winter Reds, the annual festival in the Adelaide Hills taking place from 28-30 July.

On Saturday 29th July, we’ll be hosting a ‘Birds in the Gallery degustation’, the ultimate tasting menu from chef de cuisine Carlos Astudillo. Paired with complementing wines from across our portfolio, this indulgent lunch in our restaurant, The Gallery has limited availability so get in touch to book your table. Price $165 pp ($140 for Flight Club members). View the menu here.

Throughout the weekend we’ll also be offering a more casual experience, ‘Latino Heat at Bird in Hand’. Friday evening and throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday, we’ll be serving ‘asado’, a traditional Chilean BBQ inspired by Carlos’s roots. Accompanied by relaxed, acoustic music from Anna Gabriela, our beautiful, cosy barrel hall is the best place to spend a winter’s afternoon. Arrive early to grab a good spot near the fire.

Flight Club members who visit during the weekend have the exclusive opportunity to taste the 2013 MAC Shiraz. One of Bird in Hand’s Tribute Series wines, this exquisite, highly limited wine spent two years in new French oak, before being bottled-aged for a further 18 months.
