The Bird in hand Cabernet Shiraz is from the outstanding 2015 vintage. Weather conditions were nearly perfect and the resulting grapes had just the right amount of balance between alcohol, ripeness and fruit. The grapes were hand-picked, pressed separately and skilfully blended and the resulting wine reflects Bird in Hand’s mindset to be at the pinnacle of world wide opinion.
The Shiraz grapes yielded weighty dark fruit characters, intensity and robustness, while the dash of Cabernet adds structure, silky tannins and subtle spice notes. Deep garnet in colour, it reveals the intense aromas and flavours of brambly blackcurrants, sweet plums, floral notes, cedar and a hint of exotic spice. With refined concentration and structure, it will cellar superbly.
